My work

In English, we have learnt about how to see different quotes and perspectives. I think we are learning about this because we need to learn about different perspectives that not much people see.

The Willow Maid by Erutan could be connected to shows me that some guys don't accept no!

Disney’s Tarzan helped me to understand that people are different.

Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Great Divide could be connected to how people should just get along.

Barriers by Hinewirangi helped me to understand that most people don't know how to pronounce names but then give up when they can't get it right.

The Seahorse and the Reef by Witi Ihimaera helped me to understand that people don't realize anything until something bad happens

Butterflies by Patricia Grace helped me to understand different perspectives (pov) from different.

CW’s Supergirl, Welcome to Earth made me think about falsely accused people which should never happen

Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Waterbending Master helped me to understand that people shouldn't stereotype females.

Disney’s Zootopia could be connected to stereotypes and how people judge others for what animals they were.

The Taming of the Shrew by Shakespeare helped me to understand that some people are abusive.

Ryan Murphy’s Glee, Never Been Kissed made me think about not judging others when they haven't been kissed yet.

Recipe Reflection

Chicken rice patties
The chicken rice patties were not right at all they had no flavour. my expectations were not high for this recipe since it was one of our first cooking lessons. it smelt yummy, tasted flavourless, it looked good and golden brown.

Spag bowl
the spag bowl was very good. my expectations were high with this one since my mum makes it a lot and it's very good made by her. I personally think hers is better but ours tasted very good. it smelt good, it tasted amazing, it looked good.

breakfast muffins
the breakfast muffin was not good. my expectations weren't high as I have never had a breakfast muffin before. it smelt cooked dough straight out the oven (even when reheated), it tasted disgusting as it was burnt, it looked bad because of burnt as well.

pasta with tomato sauce
the pasta with tomato sause was good apart from how much pepper the people in my group added.  again with this, my mum cooks this so I have high expectations, my expectations got lowered when making it because of how much stuff we added. 2 people in my group went and got the ingredients but didn't measure. it smelt yummy, it tasted spicy, it looked yummy.

savoury scrolls.
the savoury scrolls were alright. my expectations weren't high at all. when it comes to new thing I don't have high expectations (cooking wise). it tasted alright, it smelt like bacon (even tho it was ham). it looked alright.

abbreviations.
tsp- this means Teaspoon
t- This means Tablespoon
tspn- This also means teaspoon
c- this means Cup.

My group reflection
In my personal opinion, I think that my group for the first couple of weeks my group did not work well together because 3 of us dislike another person. then my group changed but it didn't help. after that change, I was in different groups each week. every week I would have different experiences from working well to doing all the work to getting bossed around.

Zootopia Essay

In English, we are doing a film study on the movie zootopia. We did a presentation about it and now we have to write an essay. this is what i have written at the moment, I haven't finished. Here is my essay:
*please give me feedback*

Judy hopps is the main character in the movie zootopia written done by Byron Howard, Rich Moore. This movie is about animals.

In the first scene its a play. The play is showing that years ago predators hunted prey. Judy said, “we should all come together”. Judy was stating that predator should not hunt prey. Judy was stating how she thinks that we should all come together and then Gideon laughs at her saying that people will still hunt. Then they all stated what they wanted to be when they grew up, Judy said proudly “I want to be a police officer”. No one believed Judy and everyone laughed at her. I personally think that they were tryna to judge her and make assumptions. Judy was getting told that she could be a police officer because she was a bunny and even her parents said to her you should just be a carrot farmer, like your 275 siblings will be when they grow up. She ignored it. When Judy started getting older she started at the zootopia university.

Halfway through the movie, Judy starts to go on her adventure to finish her case. Judy was excited to have her first actual case. She didn't have much information on the victims/suspects but she believed in herself. The first person she went and saw was Nicholas Piberius Wilde (Nick Wilde for short). This is the second time nick was seen as a bad person. Nick was a hustler, he brought ice blocks from stores and made them into ice blocks of paws (which is unhygienic because no one knows if he washed his hands). Then he would take those ice blocks and go and sell them to lemmings (a type of animal).he named them pawpsicles.  Judy hopps persuaded Nick to help her or she’ll turn him in.

In the end, Judy and Nick wilde become best friends and become partners against crime. Since nick helped judy with her case he got a job in the police force. When judy goes back into the police station she sees officer clawhauser in his place and she got super excited.

Cancer Research

The subject we are learning is medical science. I decided to learn about cancer and how it forms. I also wanted to learn about how cancer affects the blood. The Google definition " a disease caused by an uncontrolled division of abnormal cells in a part of the body" "a malignant growth or tumour resulting from an uncontrolled division of cells". the cancer survival rate is usually 78 percent. that means all the people who have bladder cancer, 78 of every 100 are living five years after diagnosis. conversely, 22 out of every 100 are dead within five years of a bladder cancer diagnosis. for instance, 56 percent, or a little more than half, of people are diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer live for at least five years after diagnosis. the five-year survival rate for people diagnosed with late-stage lung cancer that has spread (metastasized) to other areas of the body is 5 percent. in another example, a treatment may offer a chance for a cure, but only for 1 or 2 people out of every 100. for some, these chances are promising enough to put up with side effects. for others, the chance for a cure isn't worth the treatment's side effects.
